Privacy notice

This notice explains how LocalKaki intends to collect, use, disclose, protect and retain personal data for the Singapore launch. The production organisation and Data Protection Officer details must be confirmed before launch.

Information we collect

• Account details such as name, email and broad neighbourhood.
• Listings, community posts, messages, reports, reviews and files you choose to provide.
• Usage, device, security and moderation records needed to operate and protect the service.
• Business details and private customer management notes for business accounts.

Why we use it

We use personal data to create accounts, show relevant local content, enable communications, prevent scams and abuse, enforce rules, provide support, improve search and moderation, maintain audit records and comply with legal obligations.

Location and Nearby discovery

You may choose a curated neighbourhood, MRT or general street area, or grant one time browser permission to find an approximate area. When device location is used, LocalKaki generalises the coordinates and does not retain the exact location received from your device. The saved preference contains an area label, a coarse map centre and your chosen discovery radius, not a block, unit or home address.

Public posts display an approximate area and honest distance range. They do not expose the discovery location saved on another user’s account. You can replace your area, search another map area temporarily, or withdraw the saved preference.

Local AI processing

Automated safety and search features are designed to run on LocalKaki controlled infrastructure without sending content to a third party model API. They may analyse listing text and messages for scam, prohibited content and young user safety signals. High impact decisions should be reviewable by authorised moderators.

Disclosure

We may disclose data to service providers operating the platform, professional advisers, authorities where legally required, and other users according to the features you use. We do not sell personal data. Production vendors and overseas transfers must be documented and protected to a standard comparable with the PDPA.

Retention and security

We retain data only while needed for service, safety, dispute, fraud prevention or legal purposes. We use access controls, role separation, audit logging and reasonable technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You may request access to or correction of personal data, withdraw consent where applicable, change visibility settings and request account deletion, subject to lawful retention needs. Contact privacy@localkaki.sg once the public DPO channel is activated.
