Before you deal

• Check account age, exchange history, reviews and the specific verification label.
• Compare the price. An unusually cheap high value item deserves extra scrutiny.
• Ask for current photos and clarify defects, inclusions and collection arrangements.
• For services, confirm scope, price, credentials where relevant and who will attend.

Chat safely

• Keep the conversation on LocalKaki.
• Never share OTPs, banking passwords, card details or identity document images.
• Be cautious when someone immediately requests Telegram, WhatsApp or an external link.
• Use block and report controls if messages become pressuring, sexual, threatening or suspicious.

Meet safely

• Prefer a busy, well lit public place such as an MRT area, community club or mall.
• Tell someone where you are going and avoid entering a stranger’s home alone.
• Young users should be accompanied by a parent or trusted adult.
• Inspect the item before paying where practical.

Payments

LocalKaki does not process or protect payments at launch. Do not assume a PayNow name, screenshot or transfer receipt proves legitimacy. If you suspect a scam, contact your bank immediately and use official Singapore reporting resources.

How platform protection works

LocalKaki combines reports, contact verification, account history, rate limits, image and text checks, local AI risk detection, moderator review, appeals and immutable audit logs. No system catches everything, so your judgement remains essential.
